Skillet Ravioli

raviolliLet’s get cooking with some  “Skillet Ravioli”!    If you’re in the mood for Italian food this is a tasty yet quick and easy meal to prepare.  It’s a dish you can make a day or two ahead and is just as good, if not better, reheated.  

What you’ll need:

1 lb. ground beef (you could also use Italian sausage)

1/2 small onion, chopped (optional)

1/2 green pepper, chopped (optional)

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 jar pasta sauce

1 (15 oz.) bag ravioli, any flavor

1 cup water

Parmesan cheese

Mozzarella cheese, shredded

meatIn a large skillet, over medium heat, brown ground beef, onion, and green pepper.  (I didn’t have green pepper this time) Drain fat.  Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.  Add, pasta sauce and water.  Mix well.

 Add frozen ravioli, making sure all of them are pretty much covered with sauce mixture. Sauce should not be too thick as the ravioli will absorb some of the liquid.

Sprinkle with Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese (to your liking).

Cover and simmer 15-20 mins., or until ravioli are soft, and cheese is melted.

Serve with Italian bread, and salad if you like.  Enjoy!
